Improving of spraying programme of ornamental plants grown under covering and in the open. Importing of large amount of ornamental plants to Poland resulted in new problems with their protection from insects and diseases. Actually intensive monitoring is done on new diseases and insects that appeared in Poland together with imported plants. The most important task is frequent inspection of ornamental nurseries and elaboration of spraying programmes according to plant infestation. Biology of agrofagus is studied and careful testing of chemicals is done to avoid degraduation of environment. The actual programme of protection of ornamental plants against pests and diseases covers around 100 species. The programme prepared lately is usefull for nurseries, production in the open and in greenhouses and tunnels.
